Arizona State University (ASU) undergrad and Flagstaff resident Kei Sieben has been interested in a healthcare career for many years, which has only been reinforced by their participation in programs offered by the Colorado Plateau Center for Health Professions (CPCHP) at North Country HealthCare. Kei, who is currently studying biomedical sciences at Barrett, the Honors College at ASU, is planning to apply for ASU’s nursing program for fall of 2026. They are also considering double majoring in biomedical sciences and healthcare coordination, with the goal of becoming a physician after working as a nurse.
Kei participated in the Future Faces of Family Medicine program with CPCHP: “It definitely helped cement that healthcare was the right path for me. My favorite part was getting to do such a wide variety of things, from learning about Social Determinants of Health, to ultrasounds to doing dissections. I felt like I got to see so many different sides of healthcare, and I really liked getting to interact with the residents and attendings as well.”
During the summer of 2025, Kei is returning to NCHC as a Health Partners Intern, connecting NCHC patients to community resources. “I’m really looking forward to being a Health Partners intern. I think it’s going to be a great chance to experience a different side of healthcare and to work with people one on one.”
