Girls on the Run of Northern Arizona – Fall 2024 Season
Girls on the Run of Northern Arizona has been a program of North Country HealthCare since 2012 and is the earliest step in the health career pathway supported by our education department.
Girls on the Run provides fun, evidence-based programs that inspire girls in 3rd through 8th grade to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others. The fall 2024 season just wrapped up with two incredible 5K events! Girls proudly crossed the finish line in colorful tutus, celebrating the joy and accomplishment of achieving their 5K goal.
In addition to appreciating their incredible program, we would like to give a big thank you to our employees for their contributions to the NCHC Community Impact Fund. These contributions help us provide Girls on the Run scholarships, shoes, and sports bras to girls who otherwise wouldn’t be able to participate in the program!
Successful 5K Events
Each Girls on the Run season comes to an end with a celebratory 5K. This closing event gives program participants of all abilities a tangible sense of accomplishment. Crossing the finish line instills confidence through completion and is a joyful moment program participants always remember!
Everyone in our program receives a commemorative medal to celebrate this incredible achievement. Girls on the Run of Northern Arizona hosted two 5K events this fall in Flagstaff on November 2nd and in Verde Valley on November 9th. In total, over 600 girls and running buddies crossed the finish line, and over 1000 people attended the events.
Girls on the Run Runs on Volunteers!
A special thank you to our amazing coaches who showed up every week to provide a safe, supportive, and joyful space for your girls. Coaches are the heart of our program! Each season, two or more volunteer coaches inspire and guide a team through our tried-and-true curriculum.
Join us next year as a coach, running buddy, or 5K volunteer
