
This inter-disciplinary training will address how to properly document, code and bill for encounters throughout the SUD/OUD care continuum following CMS billing rules for Federally Qualified Health Centers and Rural Health Centers. The presenter will:
- Provide a brief background of the opioid epidemic
- Discuss how to make the business case and what to do before initiating SUD/OUD treatment services
- Provide an overview of opportunities and challenges associated with MAT reimbursement mechanisms, including coding and billing for Medicare, managed care, Medicaid, and other third-party payors
- Explore revenue options for reporting Transitional Care Management, Virtual Communication Services, Telehealth, and Care Management services such as Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) and the Psychiatric Collaborative Care Model (Psych CoCM)
- Outline clinical documentation, coding, and billing codes for behavioral health diagnostic evaluations and individual/family/group psychotherapy services
- Review proper staffing and clinical workflows between primary care and behavioral health
