SUMMARY:Psychiatry for Non-Psychiatrists- Virtual Conference
DESCRIPTION:In response to the alarming rise in mental illnesses such as depression\, anxiety\, insomnia\, addiction\, and suicide – and the dearth of mental health providers – the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Tucson presents a fully virtual conference on Saturday\, March 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.\n“Psychiatry for Non-Psychiatrists” features a host of renowned experts sharing practical and actionable knowledge\, in 30 to 45 minute presentations\, to help PCPs effectively manage a variety of mental conditions in primary care settings.\nAccess to mental health care is a right\, not a privilege. We aim to empower PCPs with new clinical skills to enhance access to care\, improve comorbid medical conditions\, and reduce the stigma of seeking treatment for mental illness.\nCost: $100 for physicians\, $75 for nurses/physician assistants\, $50 community members (not CME eligible)\, $10 for residents/trainees/students (not CME eligible).
